The most efficient way of leveling is to do quests while also being in queue in the random dungeon finder. Doing quests as you wait in queue and doing the instances in between these quests is currently considered the fastest and most efficient way to level from 1-80. Having the chest and shoulder heirloom pieces also increase your leveling rate as each piece gives a +10% increase (+20% with both) to experience gain rate from quests and from kills. However, this is only available to players who already have at least one level 80.
Another method is the Recruit-a-Friend system. This allows you to gain three times the experience rate when your with your recruited friend in a party and are within the same level range (and near each other). However, this only works up until level 60 and unless your recruited friend buys a full retail version, it’ll only last 10 days because thats only as long as a trial account lasts. If s/he does buy the full retail version, it would be increased to 90 days, at which it will expire.
Having the heirloom pieces and recruit-a-friend system at the same time along with the initial questing/dungeon leveling method I mentioned is the fastest known possible way to level.
Also, having up to date gear increases damage given and reduces damage taken. This means that you kill other monsters faster and have to eat/drink/die less often, increasing efficiency. However it’s not recommended to purchase items off the Auction House unless your extremely financially stable because gear is replaced very fast during leveling. Most gear from leveling is obtained through quests, make sure to pick rewards that are relevant to you, which, as a paladin, would be mail until you reach level 40 then it’ll be plate.
Personally, heres my route (assuming your paladin is a Human):
Elwynn -> Westfall -> Redridge -> Darkshire -> Arathi Highlands-> Stranglethorn Vale -> Tanaris -> Ungoro Crater. Usually by this time I’ve reached 55, which seems to be your level of choice . Note that Arathi Highlands, Stranglethorn Vale, Tanaris, and Ungoro Crater are contested zones so even if your not on the Alliance, you can still quest in these areas even as a Horde. Elwynn, Westfall, Redridge, and Darkshire are all Alliance only questing locations.
Since your already level 28, I’d suggest you go to Arathi Highlands and do everything you can at Refuge Pointe (assuming your Alliance). Then at around level 32 or so go to rebel camp in Stranglethorn Vale. Continue southward as there is the Nesingwary questline there. Then continue even further south to Booty Bay for mid-level Stranglethorn Vale quests (35-40). At around level 40-42 go to Gadgetzan in Tanaris. Then go to Marshal’s Refuge in Ungoro Crater in your high 40s or early 50s. Doing all the quests in this location and being in queue in the random dungeon finder should level you to 55 easily.
Good luck!
I myself have a lvl 80 paladin Retribution which i found did well
i figured my own method of levlelling
basically i found that you earn a bit of experience in a PVP battleground which i found cool since i LOVE PVP!!! so i did that for a while but take these simple steps and you will be levelling before you know it cause i do abt lvl 40 in abt a day and a half so ya
Go to the best place for levelling at your level (ask /2 and say what lvl and where you should go and you will do well)
Get into a decent guild (they can help you with ppl at a similar lvl to you
Make sure you are constantly in DUNGEON FINDER!!!!!! dungeons are awesome ways to get EXP
Make sure you do quests at the same time this way you earn double the EXP basically
Find a levelling friend
When you do quests do not take low EXP ones that build into chains unless they give you some kind of gear you really need
The fastest way I have seen is to level as a tank, and to do so you obviously need to know how to tank.
I just used the dungeon finder and leveled my hunter to 40 in 3 days of casual play.
Also, I believe they dropped the minimum level requirement to 40 to make a Death Knight in a recent patch, but I am not sure, as I was already level 70 when DKs were released.
The only thing I can think of is to make sure your character stays “Rested”…as soon as the Experience bar changes colour, you have your character rest to restore the colour.
A friend was able to keep within 2 levels, playing 5-8 hours a WEEK of another friend whom was playing 5-8 hours a DAY. Also, don’t turn your nose up at achievements. He earned significant XP just exploring the maps and AVOIDING combat!
Good Luck!
Level 70-80 is so bad. Err, queue for dungeons while you’re questing, and just try and enjoy the class you’re using now. If you’re a tank (Paly/Warrior/Feral Druid etc.) you can pull lots of mobs, and use a multi target attack such as swipe in Bear form, this is very boring but quite quick. Good luck.
Mate best advise anyone can give you would have to be — persistance is the key.
We all were level 28 once upon a day but we stuck in there and reached 80
Best thing to do is tank randoms
or quest
palladins can solo group quests easy
Good question.
I’ve leveled a total of 6 80s now, and I’m leveling 3 more as we speak. I have a few friends who pay me to level characters for them. There’s a few ways you can do it, some are faster than others.
-Get a botting program. This costs money and can be a little difficult to set up if you don’t know what you’re doing, but it can run 24/7 and level for you while you’re sleeping, at school, or whatever. You’ll be 55 in no time.
-Level casually through instances. You’ll get into an instance instantly if you’re a healer or a tank. If you run those efficiently you will level fast.
-Wait until the weekend, and continuously run the specific battleground that gives extra experience. I found that during Arathi Basin weekend, my 50-something level paladin would get a third of a level of experience for every win!
-A mix of Questing/Instancing/BG’ing while listening to some great music or watching a good TV show/movie and you should enjoy it
Feel free to message me for ANY questions you have that are WoW related, I’ve got tons of experience including killing endgame bosses and having arena teams at 2200 rating.
