So I’m thinking about buying one of those items that binds to account so my grind will be a little easier from the start on my alt. I’m thinking about starting a warrior. What item would you recommend I purchase with my justice points to help me hit the grind fast? I’m willing to purchase two items. I want to buy armor but as you know, he upgrades to plate eventually so I would have to wait till I hit that certain level before I can use the armor that I purchased. I want to be a prot warrior in the end. Should I buy a shield and sword with my justice points? Should I just get a two hander for the grind? Any help would be appreciated!

A few things:
- Those Justice Points can be used at level 85 to buy gear for your main. Are you certain you want to spend the points now for an alt? I’m trying to make sure my level 80 toons have lot of it, so I can be at the cap when I hit 85, and buy 1-2 pieces of blue quality gear ASAP.
- The plate armor for Warriors automatically scales down to Mail for them. So you can use it right at level 1, and it won’t be plate yet until you get to 40. And I think you still need to learn to wear plate at your trainer; then it upgrades to plate automatically.
- Unless they’ve changed something very recently, there is no heirloom shield.
- You can level fast as Protection if you tank instances.
My mid-level-forties Warrior almost always tops damage even as the tank. Sometimes I’m as high as 50% of all the damage! Even when others in the group have heirloom stuff too, I’m still ahead of them as the tank. He has a heirloom 1-hand sword, the Shoulder armor, Chest Armor, and two Trinkets as well, so that all helps a lot.
But even with just 1 or 2 heirlooms you might still top damage.
Because you’re the one leading the charge (and you’re doing good damage as the tank), you can make leveling in instances go pretty fast. Just watch the healers mana.
- At level 40, you can get dual-spec for 100g. If you get armor as your heirloom gear, you can use it as a tank or DPS. So you might want to buy the Shoulders and Chest armor, and use it with any spec (tanking or not).
I hope this all helps you make your own decision.
One strong point of frost AOE grinding is that it becomes exponentially more powerful with even one or two pieces of Heirloom gear. [Discerning Eye of the Beast] and [Swift Hand of Justice] are both excellent choices while AOEing. [Exquisite Sunderseer Mantle] and [Tattered Dreadmist Mantle] are also excellent boons to an AOEing frost mage as they increase the experience gain on each mob killed by 10%. Combine both trinkets and either shoulder slot item and you have the ingredients for some very fast leveling with very little downtime.
